Wuling Binguo S, the latest electric vehicle (EV) from Wuling, immediately captured the market’s attention shortly after its launch.
Recent data shows an extraordinary level of enthusiasm, with total orders soaring past a fantastic number. Wuling claims to have secured at least 55,840 unit orders for the Binguo S since it was introduced to the public on September 27, 2025.
This order figure is highly significant, indicating a positive reception from consumers towards this compact electric car offering. Out of the total tens of thousands of units ordered, Wuling also confirmed that some units have already begun distribution to their new owners. Specifically, 7,250 units of the Binguo S have been successfully delivered to customers in various regions.
One of the main appeals that makes the Binguo S highly sought after is the pricing scheme, particularly after receiving incentives or subsidies from the government. The EV was initially priced quite competitively, ranging from 66,800 to 79,800 yuan. When converted to local currency, the price falls within the range of approximately Rp159.4 million to Rp187 million.
However, thanks to the subsidy, the selling price of this retro-styled electric car has become much more affordable. After the incentives were applied, the Binguo S sticker price dropped to 63,800 to 76,800 yuan. With this new price, consumers can acquire the Binguo S starting from Rp149 million up to around Rp180 million. This price reduction is clearly a determining factor in the phenomenal surge in demand.
The Binguo S itself is available in four variants, providing wider options for prospective buyers. Each variant maintains the distinctive design characteristics already familiar from the Binguo lineup, featuring an attractive, rounded body profile. Its exterior design embraces a strong retro style, seamlessly blended with modern touches.
The front end of the car is adorned with classic polygonal headlights that emphasize the retro vibe. To enhance its stylish impression, the Binguo S comes with an appealing two-tone body color option. The wheels used also adopt the unique, signature Binguo design.
Looking at the rear, this compact car showcases an eye-catching translucent light strip.
This design is complemented by silver trim integrated into the lower bumper area, lending an elegant touch. Dimensionally, the Wuling Binguo S measures 4,265 mm in length, 1,785 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height. The car’s wheelbase extends to 2,610 mm, promising stability and optimal interior space.
Stepping inside the cabin, the Binguo S offers a seating configuration for five passengers. Wuling engineered the interior to feel spacious and comfortable. Headroom for front-row passengers is 1,008 mm, while the distance between seats in the second row reaches 882 mm. Consumers can customize the cabin ambiance with two main color choices: Soft White or Warm Brown.
The features integrated into this EV are extensive, even in the standard variant. Drivers are presented with an informative 8.88-inch instrument panel. In the center of the dashboard, a 12.8-inch central touchscreen serves as the control hub for the infotainment system.
Other standard features designed to pamper users include Bluetooth connectivity, a start button, automatic headlights, and cruise control for comfortable long-distance driving.
For the higher-tier variants, Wuling adds several premium features. Among these is a 360-degree panoramic camera, which is highly helpful when parking or maneuvering in tight spaces. Driver comfort is enhanced with electric seat adjustments.
Furthermore, there are heated front seats, a very useful feature in colder climates. The side mirrors are also electrically operated with automatic folding and heating functions.
The Binguo S infotainment system relies on Wuling’s proprietary Lingyu AI platform, which offers advanced integration with various services. The platform supports Hicar, Carlink, and even Apple CarPlay, ensuring all connectivity needs are met. Other supporting features in the cabin include a functional hollow secondary dashboard. Additionally, a fast and practical 50W wireless charging feature is available.
Regarding the powertrain, the Binguo S is equipped with a single motor model TZ180XS275. This electric motor is capable of delivering a peak power output of 75 kW. The performance is sufficient for daily commuting needs and moderate-distance travel.
This electric car offers consumers two battery capacity options using lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) technology. The first option is a 31.9 kWh capacity battery, claimed to have a range of 325 km based on the CLTC cycle.
Meanwhile, the second option offers a larger capacity of 41.9 kWh, allowing for a range of up to 430 km under CLTC testing conditions.
Battery charging time is also relatively efficient. With the support of Direct Current (DC) fast charging, the Binguo S battery can be charged from 30 to 80 percent in only about 35 minutes. This provides convenience and reduces range anxiety.
The security aspect is a top priority for Wuling in designing the Binguo S. The car uses a Shenlian battery embedded with Modular Ultra-Safety Technology (MUST), ensuring high safety standards.
In addition to battery protection, other active and passive safety features are integrated. The car is equipped with four airbags to protect occupants in the event of a collision. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is present to maintain the car’s traction and stability.
Other assistance features include Hill Start Assist and an auto-hold feature, which simplifies stopping on inclines or at traffic lights. The combination of retro design, comprehensive features, capable performance, and subsidized pricing makes the Wuling Binguo S a new dark horse in the electric vehicle segment.
